F. RICHARD LADEAU
December 27, 1936 ~ December 17, 2022 (Age 85)
WINCHENDON - F. Richard Ladeau, 85, a longtime Winchendon funeral director, died peacefully at his residence Saturday morning, December 17, 2022, with his family at his side.
He was born in Winchendon on December 27, 1936, son of the late Frank H. and Bernadette M. (Larochelle) Ladeau. Dick was a 1954 graduate of Murdock High School and a 1958 graduate of the New England Institute of Funeral Directing, Boston. He purchased the former Snow Funeral Home in 1958.
A licensed funeral director, Dick owned and operated Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home for 48 years before selling the business and semi-retiring in 2007. For the next several years, Dick continued to work as a funeral assistant at Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, Winchendon and Boucher Funeral Home, Gardner. He will be remembered as an honest, caring professional, who was loved by the families for whom he cared and served.
Active in civic and fraternal organizations, Dick was a member of over 50 years, past president and longtime treasurer of Winchendon Kiwanis Club. He was also past president of Murdock Alumni Association and former treasurer for 21 years of Murdock Alumni Scholarship Fund. He was a life member of Winchendon Historical Society, a member and former chaplain of Sons of American Legion Eugene M. Connor Post 193. Additionally, Dick was a past president of the former Winchendon Hospital Corporation, a member of the Winchendon Grange for over 50 years and former member of Worcester West Pomona Grange.
Dick was an over 50 year member and Past Master of Artisan Lodge of Masons, a member of Aleppo Temple Shriners in Wilmington for over 50 years and a member of Gardner Shrine Club. He was an original member of Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery Committee and former vice president of Friends of Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Phyllis M. Padeni (Pernoski) Ladeau; two sons, William G. Ladeau of Leominster and Brian R. Ladeau and wife Sheila of Baldwinville; two stepchildren Tracy A. Padeni of Augusta, GA and David Padeni and wife Lorna of Jaffrey, NH; two grandsons, Todd R. Ladeau and Brad M. Ladeau of Baldwinville; two step grandson Jeremiah Padeni of Rindge, NH and Jenna Taylor of Knoxsville, TN and two step great grandchildren. His first wife, Barbara J. (Bartlett) Ladeau, died in 1988.
Funeral services will be private, in accordance with Dick's wishes.

JOANN HARDY
March 6, 1956 ~ December 19, 2022 (Age 66)
Ashby - JoAnn (Tukianen) Hardy, 66, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH after a brief illness.
She leaves behind her three children, Jena Hill and her husband BJ Hill of Rutland, Kara Hardy and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Beirholm of Gardner, and Thomas Hardy of Ashby: one grandson, Andrew Hill of Rutland; her mother Helmi (Honkala) Linnus of Ashby; two sisters, Elaine Tukianen of NH, and Judy Jensen of GA; one brother, David Tukianen of Ashby; many nieces, nephews and a large number of cousins.
She was born on March 16, 1956, in Fitchburg, MA a daughter of the late Richard Tukianen. She graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School and was the self-proclaimed "Queen of Surfing." She worked in the Winchendon Public School System for many years, then at the ARC in Fitchburg, and most recently was a bus driver for VanPool.
She was known as a practical joker who loved to have fun. She enjoyed road trips, reading, the Amish culture, and spending time with her grandson most of all. She was a former member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Gardner. Her family was the most important part of her life.

ALBERTA J. (FISHER) METHE
August 1, 1937 ~ December 18, 2022 (Age 85)
WINCHENDON - Alberta J. (Fisher) Methe, 85, of Winchendon, died peacefully Sunday evening, December 18, 2022 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, with her family at her side.
She was born in Winchendon on August 1, 1937, daughter of the late Henry J. and Christine M. (Calkins) Fisher and attended Winchendon schools.
Alberta worked for many years an inspector at New Hampshire Ball Bearings until her retirement in 1999. She enjoyed playing computer games with her family and also loved cats and birds.
She leaves her children, Nick Methe of Fitzwilliam, NH; Deborrah L. Diamantopoulos of Pt. Charlotte, FL, Brenda L. Russell of Winchendon and Deanna M. Steeves of Billerica; two brothers, Austin Fisher of Winchendon and Bryon Fisher of Jaffrey, NH; two sisters, Lorraine St. Pierre of Winchendon and Patricia Rutka of Jaffrey, NH; five grandchildren; one great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Smith of Fitzwilliam, NH.

SANDRA L. (HENDRICKSON) COTE
August 2, 1943 ~ December 19, 2022 (Age 79)
GARDNER - Sandra L. (Hendrickson) Cote, 79, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday morning, December 19, 2022 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with her family at her side.
She was born in Gardner on August 2, 1943, daughter of the late Herbert and Rose (Boulanger) Hendrickson and had lived in Winchendon and Gardner for most of her life.
Sandy was a long time member of Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God in Winchendon and Chair City Church in Gardner. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cross stitching. Her greatest joy was her family.
Her husband of 43 years, Leslie E. Cote, died in 2012. She leaves a daughter, Denise Yavorosky of Winchendon; two grandsons, Jonathan Blodgett and his wife Rebecca of Winchendon and Mark Sweeney of Winchendon; a granddaughter, Nicole Arroyo of Maine; two great granddaughters, Lila Sweeney and Serena Sweeney and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Badeau; two sisters, Shirley Cote and Ruth Dobson, brother Herbert Hendrickson and son-in-law, Frank Yavorosky.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the funeral Friday from 9 to 10 A.M.
Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

PATRICA A. MAZEROLLE
April 22, 1947 ~ December 19, 2022 (Age 75)
WINCHENDON - Patricia A. (O'Dea) Mazerolle, 75, of Winchendon, died peacefully Monday morning, December 19, 2022 at her residence, with her family at her side.
She was born in Winchendon on April 22, 1947, daughter of the late Joseph and Erma (Bosworth) O'Dea and was a graduate of Murdock High School. Pat lived in Winchendon for most of her life.
A factory worker for many years, Pat had worked at C.R. Bards, New Hampshire Ball Bearing, Tyco and Simplex until her retirement. She enjoyed working around her home, tending to her household chores such as running her tractor and snow blowing.
Pat loved gardening and in recent years, she loved attending her grandson's football games, no matter the weather or distance, and going to yearly birthday trips to the casino with her daughter. She also enjoyed playing bingo. Her greatest enjoyment was her family.
She was the wife of the late Alcide Mazerolle and leaves two children, Kevin Patch and his girlfriend Stacey of Winchendon and Tonya White and her husband Spencer of Troy, NH; a grandson, Keegan White and girlfriend Shannon and a great granddaughter, Leah Snow White. A grandson, Lucas White, preceded her in death.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
A spring burial will be held in Mountain View Cemetery, Troy, N.H.

CHELSEA LAMONTAGNE
June 17, 1990 ~ December 18, 2022 (Age 32)
ATHOL- Chelsea Lamontagne; age 32 passed away December 18, 2022. She leaves behind her beloved husband Alfred, her daughters Ryleigh and Calista, and her stepdaughter Madison. As well as her sisters Sheila, Genevieve, Julianna, Barbara, her brother Anthony, and her dad William. Her nephews Chase and Caleb, and her niece Hailey. Along with her immediate family she leaves behind a large family of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends that became family.
Chelsea was the highlight of so many people's lives. She was loving, caring, compassionate, and extremely outgoing. Chelsea was always inspiring people to be kind and making friends everywhere she went. What mattered most to her was her family. She always wanted to be surrounded by those she loved. She hosted family events and was the life of the party. Her life revolved around happiness and love. She enjoyed BBQs, holiday events, vacations with family, day trips, time with her children, and her dog Logan.
She is predeceased by her mother Tonia and her father Theodore, her cousin Anthony and her nana Marilyn.

MARY L. WENTZ
June 17, 1944 ~ December 14, 2022 (Age 78)
ATHOL, MA - Mary L. Wentz, 78, of Lombard Avenue, died on Wednesday evening, December 14, 2022 at Athol Hospital.
Born on June 17, 1944 in South Hadley, she grew up there, moving to Athol in 1978.
She was married to Stewart E. Wentz for 40 years.
A PCA and housekeeper, Mary had owned and operated M&S Cleaning Service for a number of years and was proud to have the Daily News and Hometown Bank as clients, along with her private homes she cared for.
A great cook, Mary enjoyed cooking for others and hosting dinners once a month. She loved the White Mountains and the Cape also.
Mary was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a member of the Orange Kingdom Hall.
Mary is survived by her sons, Stewart W. Wentz of Shirley and James Wentz of Winchendon; a daughter in law, Angela Wentz-Haggett of Athol; several grandchildren; a sister, Donna Spirito of Chicopee; a brother, David Monty of Northampton; and several nephews and nieces.
There are no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at the Orange Kingdom Hall, 185 Daniel Shays Highway, on January 7, 2023 at 1 p.m.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 99 Hapgood Street, Athol, following the memorial service January 7th.

BEVERLY B. (GOEWEY) PAUL
November 2, 1941 ~ December 22, 2022 (Age 81)
WINCHENDON - Beverly B. (Goewey) Paul. 81, of Winchendon, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, December 22, 2022 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with her family at her side.
She was born in Claremont, New Hampshire on November 2, 1941, daughter of the late Joseph R. and Beatrice B. (Flagg) Goewey and had been a resident of Winchendon since 1965.
Beverly worked many years ago as a waitress. She enjoyed reading books, knitting and playing solitaire with her family. She was a former member of Winchendon Rod and Gun Club. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.
Her husband of 49 years, Dennis A. Paul, died in 2015. She leaves five children, Richard J. Goewey and his wife Yvonne of Winchendon, Eleanor B. Gauthier and her husband Robert of East Templeton, Barbara Paul of Waltham, Gail Paul Goewey and her husband David Goewey of Winchendon and Gina Paul of Winchendon; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Roger Goewey, who died in 2004.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 3 P.M.in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 2 to 3 P.M.
